18th Century Corset Project

18th Century Corset Project

During my second year of Costume Design and Making course, I was challenged with creating a corset using red edged linen fabric material. It had to be of high quality standard although I was allowed to choose different coloured threads for inserting the whalebones! I researched the period throughly and looked at the detail of hand made corsets because in that time, they did not have sewing machines. Overall, I really enjoyed making something structured and will definitely include a corset in my 3rd year exhibition.
