Lynda and NOW

You may have already started thinking about setting up your NOW learning rooms  for the next academic year.

In the previous posts we talked about how to get started with Lynda.com, search for relevant resources, create playlists and share playlists. But what about offering these resources to students? Did you know know that you can add them to your NOW learning room?

You can present the materials in a homepage widget or in the content your learning room. And you have two options: add links or embed Lynda.com resources.

Have a look at the examples of Lynda.com resources added to the learning room content in the Technology Central learning room. Please note: Technology Central is an internal resource only accessible by NTU staff and students.

In this post I am going to explain how you can add links to your NOW learning room.

  • Or create a web page and provide links to multiple Lynda.com resources on that page.

2.1. Create a content topic linked to a Lynda.com resource

  • In your learning room, go to Content;
  • Create a new unit if required;
  • Click the New button > select New Link;
  • Enter the title and paste the URL of the Lynda.com playlist, course or video;
  • Tick the Open as External Resource box;
