Hello I’m new…..
First day? Feeling nervous?
Do you remember how it felt when you first came to a new organisation and there was that mixture of excitement and nervousness about starting your new job? Or perhaps it was the same organisation but a new role.
How did that go for you?
As part of making our overall induction process even better for our new employees and existing employees, we’re having a fresh look at how we give you the best digital induction.
Like most universities, we have a plethora of digital systems, services and behaviours. Some are familiar, some are particular to NTU and we’re working with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that those new to NTU or starting a new role can have the best start in terms of knowing what digital skills, capabilities and competencies they need to ensure they can get going.
We’ve been consulting with a wide range of existing staff both in Schools and Professional Services and, using our Digital Framework, are identifying the digital capabilities and systems that we know will help people get off to the best start.
We’re also looking at how we use the Jisc Discovery tool, part of the Jisc Digital Capability project, to help new staff explore their own digital skills and behaviours as part of induction.
